General Information about Voulamandis House

Does Voulamandis House provide breakfast?

Yes, Voulamandis House offers breakfast. Usually, it is not included in the room price. You can request it during your stay whenever you wish. However, we kindly ask you to let us know by the previous day.

The cost is €12 per person per day. If breakfast is not included in your reservation, you can still add it, provided you inform us in advance (the day before).

Our breakfast is homemade, with most ingredients sourced from our farm. It is hearty and varied, with daily changes to offer a unique experience every morning.

Yes, parking is available within the property. However, you can also park outside the property, on the street. The area is very quiet, and most guests choose to park outside.

Voulamandis House is located in Kampos, a suburb of Chios Town. It is just a few minutes’ drive from the island’s center. As you can see on the map, it is situated in the central eastern part of the island, making it an ideal spot to explore both the northern and southern parts of Chios.

The port of Chios is just a 14-minute drive from Voulamandis House.

The airport is just a 7-minute drive from Voulamandis House.

On our map, we have marked the bus stop with the most frequent connections; however, twice a day (in the morning and at midday), a bus passes directly in front of Voulamandis House.

The nearest beach on foot is Kontari Beach, which is a 32-minute walk for those without a car. There is also Karfas Beach, which is a 31-minute walk, but half of the route is uphill. Generally, we recommend using a vehicle (car, bicycle, scooter, or bus). Chios has beautiful beaches scattered all over the island, so having a vehicle is essential, if not for your entire stay, at least for a few days.

Just a 16-minute walk away, along a very easy and flat route, there is a traditional tavern in the village of Thymiana. It’s a very convenient option if you’re looking for an easy dinner choice near Voulamandis House.

On our website, in the main menu, there is a “Rooms” option. There, you will find the two categories of rooms we offer. By selecting the category you are interested in, you will see a gallery with the numbers of the specific rooms that interest you.

For families of 4 people, we recommend the family apartments. If you are a group of 5, we suggest booking one economy double room and one standard double room.

There are 2 options here: an economy double or a regular double/triple room. The first option is more economical but smaller in size. However, it is well-designed and provides all the amenities that rooms in other categories offer. It is simply smaller (about 17 sqm). The second option is more expensive but much more comfortable. It clearly depends on your budget. For longer stays of 4+ days, the double/triple room might be a better choice.

For a single room, we recommend the economy double. We believe it will be quite comfortable and the most economical option for you. The rooms are well-designed and offer the same amenities as the other categories.

No, not all rooms have a kitchenette. There are some double/triple rooms with a kitchenette (numbers 3 and 4) and all the family apartments. If you want a kitchenette, you need to inform us, and it will depend on availability. There is an additional charge for this option.

For rooms for 3 people, we certainly DO NOT recommend the economy double rooms. You can book double/triple rooms and family apartments depending on your budget. These rooms typically have one double bed and a sofa bed. The option of 3 single beds is only available in the family apartments.

We provide a baby cot at our accommodation at no additional charge. However, we need to be informed about this when you make your booking.

Yes, if your room does not have a kitchen but you occasionally need one during your stay, you can use our shared kitchen. However, if you know that you will need a kitchen regularly during your stay, please book a room with a kitchen.

Due to ferry schedules that arrive on the island very early in the morning and because our main goal is to make your trip and stay easier, especially for families, please notify us 2-3 days prior to your arrival so we can check our options to accommodate you.

Unfortunately, no. Our cancellation policy is non-refundable. Changes to your booking dates are also not allowed. We have frequently experienced last-minute cancellations without even being informed. As a result, we decided to implement a strict cancellation policy for those guests who are certain about their trip to the island.

We accept all credit cards except AMEX. Payment can also be made via bank transfer, in cash, or through IRIS (Tax ID: 141719755). For payments made via bank transfer or cash, we offer a 2% discount (due to avoiding Visa and Mastercard fees).

If you book through the Voulamandis House booking system, no deposit is required. However, we must remind you of our cancellation policy. If you book by phone, a 20% deposit of the total accommodation cost is required.
